Our beloved principal Mr. Dean is retiring; he has been in the Snohomish School District for 10 years. Mr. Dean left behind an impact on the students. He has guided the school since 2008 when the school started. We will all miss him very much, “I will miss the smile that greeted me in the morning,” Karin Sandager said.

He will also miss us.

“I will miss the students the most as I leave GPHS. The energy and passion that you all bring to your daily work. I will miss sharing in your successes and disappointments in the years to come,” Mr. Dean said.

Before Mr. Dean retires, he is going to help people find a permanent roof over their heads.

“I live to help people,” Dean said.

Mr. Dean is going to be working with an inner-faith based community organization that helps find housing for homeless families.

This is a job tailored to his strengths in the way he is welcoming and kind toward all students.

“In September, I will be going to California for a vacation,” he said.  With his time in education, he knows this will be the best pricing and least amount of tourists anywhere he visits.

As far as what is ahead, he’s looking to help in the community.

“These are the most vulnerable people that I will be working with. Helping someone find a roof over their heads even for a few months is very rewarding. Helping them find a place to live for life is the best,” Dean said.
