I do band, and play wind ensemble. I play bass clarinet. The hardest thing for me about band was learning the clarinet, because I had to learn how to transition from playing the clarinet to the bass clarinet. It was hard because the bass clarinet is a lot lower than the clarinet. I started bass clarinet in eighth grade, because one of my friends dropped out of band and they needed and bass clarinet played to fill their spot so I did it. I just fell in love with it, and have been playing it ever since. It was a big jump for me going from middle school band to high school band. The intensity increased, because we had to learn more than I was used to and more rhythms. Mr. Morris is my band teacher, he has definitely encouraged me to be a better musician.
