Bush- Snoop Dogg

Bush- Snoop Dogg

Max Schampier, Staff Writer

In the legendary one and only Snoop D.O. double G’s newest album Bush, Snoop is once again paired up and working with Pharrell Williams (Who also produced the Classic “Drop it Like its Hot” in 2003) as main producer, with some snippets of Chad Hugo. Throughout the album anyone can easily hear that they are going old-school and hitting a style similar to some R&B or funk that was so popular throughout the 70’s. The reason for this may lead back to the fact that both Snoop and Pharrell were both born in the 1970’s and grew up listening to this style of music, making this album near and dear to both of their hearts.

Throughout this album Snoop consistently set only what could be described as a happy, carefree, and overall chill vibe. There is absolutely no way that any person could listen through this album and be left feeling anxious or unsettled, especially with Snoop Dogg’s heavy yet smooth style croon and rap style , and Pharrell’s calm, and satisfying beats that flow so well together. Though this album may be ten songs in total it leaves the listener feeling as though it’s much shorter because of the constant smooth transitions between songs, which carries the listener throughout the album without you even noticing a track change at times. This album seems to be made for a group setting or long rides where you do not want to switch between song, but ride it through and loving the trip as you go.
