A Head Full of Coldplay

A Head Full of Coldplay

Released on December 4th, Coldplay dropped their seventh album titled “A Head Full Of Dreams.” Front man Chris Matthews said the album is “colorful and uplifting” next to their last album “Ghost Stories.” In other words, this is ‘the day’ to the ‘night’ of their last album.

This week, Coldplay topped in at number two on the charts right behind Adele’s “25” album. “A Head Full of Dreams” hit sales brought in $210,000 with $190,000 in album sales alone according to Billboard. It’s their sixth straight top five-charting album for the band. The songs are available on all streaming devices.

All elven songs on the playlist still sound similar, yet as inspiring as the hits in the past decades. The upbeat album is a ballad to moving on, where “Ghost Stories” was a break up record for Martin. “You make me feel like I’m alive again,” he sings atop the brightly colored song “Adventure of a Lifetime,” the line every new love wants to hear.

Coldplay may get the eye roll when mentioned in a crowd,  but who else can bring Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo, Kendrick Lamar and producer Daniel Green,  in a  ‘GimmeShelter’-scene-stealer Merry Clayton to the table in one album? I think it’s safe to say this 15 year veteran rock band can. This album has a little bit of everything for everyone.
