The Grizzlies ended the rainy night with a 3-0 win. Boys’ soccer played at Marysville Getchell April 21st, and dominated the game. The Grizzlies gave the Chargers very few chances to score and we had possession of the ball for the majority of the game. Ten minutes into the game, mid-fielder Connor Seed scored the first goal from 25 yards out bouncing off the goalie’s hands. ”It was weird how it went in, but a goal is a goal,” Seed said.

The Chargers went towards the goal 26 minutes in, but defender Tyler Mikulsky saved it causing a corner kick.  They took the corner, and Junior Wyatt Miller headed it out to save us once again.

Soon after, Miller had a breakaway run and shot it just past the far post. With six minutes left in the half, forward Devon Potts dribbled down the line towards the goal and crossed it to mid-fielder Miles Johnston who tapped it in the corner for the second goal. ”My goal was exciting because it increased the lead and brought the level of the game up,” Johnston said.

Approaching the half, Potts dribbled to goal and was fouled inside the 18 yard box and received a penalty kick. He set the ball down and once the whistle blew, he passed it over the goalie for the third and final goal of the game. The second half wasn’t as exciting as the first, however, the Grizzlies dominated and never let the Chargers have a chance. “Our first goal for the game was to get a shutout and we accomplished that, ” forward Riley Prescott said.
