Starting off with a loss to non-league Bothell, the team’s hopes of an undefeated season quickly evaporated. The expectations were shaken with the loss, but not for long. The JV volleyball went undefeated for the rest of the season and came out on top surprising their fans, coach and even themselves.

“Even once we started going on a winning streak, I didn’t think we could finish as well as we did,” sophomore Macie McQuarrie said.

Welcoming two freshman, Claire Johnson and Christina Argue, to the team along with two returning sophomores Aleah Stratton and Marley McDonald, the team had potential.

“We all have good skills so I actually expected a lot from us,” sophomore Emily Jameson said. Jameson statement proved true, with the team finishing 1st in Wesco 3A.

“I think the most memorable moment of the season would be our game against Kamiak at the tournament,” sophomore Natalia Nakonieczny said.

The girls beat Kamiak in their morning pool play but when it came to the championship match, they fell short with a game one score of 23-25 and a game two score of 31-33. “We were so close in skill level to them that it was super competitive,” McQuarrie said.

Since the tournament was so close to the end of the season, the girls were very familiar with each other. “It was really fun because we all cheered and played together as a team,” Jameson said.

Finishing out with a sweep of Meadowdale and a 12-0 league record, this will be a streak to continue.
