With a leadoff single and two quick bunts, Jackson High School had the bases loaded with no outs in the first inning against the Grizzlies on Monday. The Timberwolves scored five in the first inning before GP could get out. Glacier Peak was not doing well going into the first and did not score in their half of the inning. Two more runs in the top of the second put Jackson ahead early with a 7 run lead going into the bottom of the second inning.

That’s when the Grizzlies woke up. Putting up five runs in the bottom of the second, our boys cut Jackson’s lead by more than half and were back in the game. Senior Skyler Kelley entered the game to pitch in the third inning and held the Timberwolves to one run over the next five innings while the Grizzlies offense mauled the Jackson pitching staff, putting up nine more runs in four innings. Senior Cameron Kellar went three for four, hitting three doubles and getting five RBI (Runs Batted In) and it was his 18th birthday! Glacier Peak won with a final score of 14-8.

They advance to the District Championship Thursday against Lake Stevens. The boys split the series with Lake Stevens during the regular season. The Championship will be played at Meridian Park at 7pm and the winner advances as the first seed from our district to the State Tournament.
