As the New Year rolls around, a new musical for our school does as well. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is our school’s musical this semester. This musical is centered around a man named Quasimodo, a misshapen but gentle-souled bell ringer of Notre Dame. He goes through many different trials, such as almost being killed as a baby by Claude Frollo, the Minister of Justice. Now a young man, Quasimodo is hidden from the world by Frollo in the belltower of the cathedral.

For junior Daniel Geiszler, this is the second main role he has played this school. “Having the privilege to play Quasimodo is something I’m really excited for,” Geiszler said, “I can’t wait to get up on stage and do this show. This show is also one of my favorite musicals, so I’m really excited for that.”

Elenor Molver loves theater and has been a part of the cast throughout high school. “This musical is super dance heavy. I’m one of the lead Gypsy’s which means I get to dance a lot, and dancing is something I love doing. I really hope that this show goes well and helps me grow stronger in my dancing skills,” she said.

Molver  also talked about how proud she is of every role that was cast and how everyone deserved the role that they received.
Senior Erica Lane talked is excited to be a soloist and a congregation member. “This musical is giving me an opportunity to build relationships with everyone in the cast and crew. At the beginning of auditions and practices, I felt like an outsider because I didn’t know anyone. But now I am building relationships and getting know everyone. I cannot wait to see where this musical leads me and how it grows me in my theatrical skills,” she said. Lane said that she knows that by the end of this musical, everyone will be like a tight knit family.
