“I have been in competitive cheer for three years. I used to do sideline cheer and I didn’t really like it that much, so I decided to try competitive, and I like it way better. I mainly didn’t like it because it was cold and sometimes the players on the other team would be rude and disrespectful. I love the people and I’m pretty close with my team, it’s fun to do and the adrenaline is nice. My teammates all get along with each other and try not to start drama or anything. My favorite memory from cheer was when I did a cartwheel, and I sprained my elbow. I am a base in cheer, and I don’t know why, they just put me there, I’m supposed to be a flyer, but they took me out. Before a competition we all get in a circle and sing songs right before we go out. It helps us calm our nerves.”
