I started hockey because of my dad and the Everett Silvertips. My dad has been playing hockey for a long time so he’s the person who got me into hockey, and when I said I wanted to play hockey he was very supportive. My family and I started going to Silvertip games around 2019 and we really enjoyed it. My favorite thing about hockey is definitely the team bond you end up having and just the feeling of being on the ice and having fun in a sport you love. The most challenging part of hockey, for me at least, is shots since you have to have good aim, a good amount of force to get the puck off the ice slightly or a lot depending on the type of shot you’re doing, and what type of shot you want to do since there are four types of shots in hockey: slap shot, snapshot, wrist shot, and backhand shot. The easiest part of hockey I would say is just the skating, since once you get used skating forwards, backwards, doing crossovers, stopping, etc. it becomes really easy. Even though skating seems kind of hard at first, it becomes easier the more you do it, and you definitely do it a lot in hockey.”
