The new Motorola, Moto G5 has been released. I know, I know, your mouse is probably hovering over the exit button of your screen because this review is not about an iPhone, but I can assure you that it is better than it seems. Yes, the phone does have some flaws, but you really can’t complain once you hear the price, and one of the biggest bangs for your buck. Here’s what I’ve learned from my experience with this phone:

1. The camera

The new moto g5 comes with a 13 mega pixel rear camera and 8 mega pixel front camera. Unlike past generations, the new phone zooms eight times instead of four. The camera is great when you don’t zoom in, but the image begins to become horrifically distorted once you zoom.

2. The Body Design

Also in past generations, the phone has been made out of plastic, but that’s not the case with their new phone. It is entirely made out of metal and allows it to stay cooler for longer periods of time. Motorola also replaced their rigid flat design for a slightly smoother look, giving it a modern look and feel.

3. Duo(AKA FaceTime)

FINALLY, a cheap phone that actually lets you FaceTime!!

4. Moto Action

Unlike other phones, Motorola is known for their gestures that enable simple tools, such as the flashlight, to be activated with a simple movement. For example, to silence calls, you can flip the phone face down on a desk or table. To turn on the flashlight, you can “chop” your hand with your phone. These features enable you to do things faster and efficiently without turning on your phone, which can be VERY useful, especially to the everyday busy student.

5. The Speakers

Unfortunately, the speakers have not improved. They are just too quiet and ironically don’t project the sound as well as they did with the second generation.  so if you like to blast musthrough your phone with your best buds, I would not recommend getting this phone.

6. The Screen Display

Other phone screens look as foggy as my mind on Monday mornings compared to this new phone. The clarity of the screen is very high quality, and I personally prefer it over other phones. Just holding this phone makes me want to curl up in a blanket and binge watch the Riverdale series. If you need ideas for things nearby, tools (like a coin flip), weather, travel, or are just bored and need some game to pass the time, this things got it.

I was also quite pleased with the new finger print it is much quicker and much more reliable than I expected. It is probably my favorite new feature  Motorola

7. The price

You really can’t complain about this phone when you hear that its only $230 for 32 gigs of storage. Most phones on the market right now are twice as much money for only a few, if any, advantages, which is probably the biggest reason why I tried this phone.
