Grizzly cubs give an opportunity for high school and elementary students to get know each other. High school students are role models for the growing students.

Fourth to Sixth grade elementary students from Little Cedars, Seattle Hill, Totem Falls and Cathcart get paired together with a high school student from Glacier Peak. Every month the buddies have an opportunity to get together and bond.

Glacier Peak students enjoy going to events and learning more about their little buddies.

“I like spending time with my buddy and we share lots of giggles,” Amberly Bonny said.

Some people like Juliana Jacobs have been involved with Grizzly Cubs since they started at Glacier Peak

“I’ve been doing it every year and it’s a fun place to get together with young ones and ask about their life,” Jacobs said.

The elementary buddies find Grizzly Cubs to be a good place to make new friends and have a good time.

“I did grizzly cubs because I wanted to do activities and meet someone new. We love to go to Starbucks and hang out,” said Hailey Long.

In Jan. the buddies went ice-skating at the Century Link Community Ice Rink.

“I liked ice skating with my buddy, she’s very kind,” said Brooklyn Schultz.

Stay tuned for what February’s event could be.
