TOLO is just around the corner and so are finals. Finals are taking place on Wednesday and Thursday Jan. 24 and 25. TOLO is being held on Saturday Jan. 27 at Thomas Family Barn the weekend after finals.

Preparing for both at the same time can be nerve-racking, especially if you’re a girl and stressing over asking someone for the first time. Freshman Tori Smith asked Patrick McKenzie to TOLO and this is the first girl ask guy date she’s had.

“I was really nervous when asking him because it was a surprise, but I knew he would say yes,” Smith said.

Trying to juggle classes and TOLO shopping can be tricky.

“It’s really hard planning for TOLO, finding a dress, getting late work turned in and studying all at once. I’ve been struggling to keep up,” Smith said.

Freshman Kennedy Chin feels the same way.

“It’s pretty stressful planning for it when finals are coming up, getting late work in and studying too,” Chin said.

Chin asked her boyfriend Ryan Kenny to TOLO.

“I was anxious when going to ask Ryan but him and I have been dating for a while, so it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be,” Chin said.

Being a freshman and experiencing all these things for the first time can be scary and stressful. Not always knowing what to do is okay, you’ll get through this week. Take a deep breath, stop pulling out your hair and take a nap.

Hang in there, you’ve got this.
