As the school year kicks off many Seniors at Glacier Peak are currently rushing to get SAT test done, and college applications sent in. College’s request that students get their applications in early to get the best possible chance of getting in, this has put immense stress on the students. It has been a very busy couple of weeks for them.

For many the whole studying process was quite the rollercoaster. Most of the students decided to cram in all their practice work last minute.

“It was a really stressful process, I crammed in all of my work the last two nights before the test,” Jesse Campbell said.

There were however plenty of resources for the students to use to practice for the test.

“I had a tutor help me a little bit and I used a website called www.PrepNorthwest.com. It really helped a lot since I’m usually not a good test taker,” Campbell said.

Some students took the extra step to try to be prepared.

“I studied a couple weeks in advance, I also took a couple of prep classes and used the prep website. I got barely any sleep before the test. But I just try to go into the test with a fresh mind and a positive attitude,” Coleman Johnson said.

Students often differ on their test taking abilities. For some, it was a breeze. But for some, not so much.

“I think I did pretty well this year. I think I did really good on the English section because I’ve been doing really well in my Junior English class this year,” Johnson said.

Some students even had to take the test multiple times. “I’ve had to take the test twice now, it’s really an annoying process especially if you don’t do good the first time,” Campbell said.
