Senior Hannah Fadden took advantage of a possible scholarship for $500 to host a blood drive advertised to her through email through our school, she took an immediate response to the email in excitement of how easy it seemed. After gathering details about the scholarship she planned out the event by setting a location for the blood drive and spreading the word.  Hannah handed out fliers at her church  and had put it up all over social media.

“I couldn’t have done it without the help of my parents,” Fadden said.

Fadden thought getting 55 people to donate would be a breeze, but as the blood drive came closer she started began to feel like she’d do anything to get more participants. Besides the stress of getting the amount of people to attain the scholarship she was happy to be doing the task for a good cause.

“My friends were excited to help out which was nice,” Fadden said.

The blood drive was held at the Clearview Foursquare Church on Jan 3. Anyone could donate, if you were under 18 you had to get a form signed by a parent. Hannah also provided snacks and juices to make sure everyone would be feelings healthy enough to give blood as well as feeling okay after the blood was done being drawn.

Senior Riley Bruce had a good interesting.

“At first I was really nervous about the needle and having to sit with it in my arm for several minutes, but after it was over with it wasn’t as bad as I thought. Hannah was really helpful and made giving blood fun, she made the environment cheerful and was really good at making sure people were drinking alot of juice and eating the salty snacks or yummy cookies. She and her family provided the, I was glad to help Hannah out,” Bruce said. Each donor saved three lives. As a result of her hard work, she helped save 81 lives and reached the scholarship goal. The money is going towards Central.
