Two things that aren’t often used in the same sentence are crayons and lipstick, Senior Mikayla Coon can make you rethink that. Coon has a youtube channel where she creates videos showing you how to make lipstick out of crayons and lookbook videos that may spark inspiration for your spring fashion. Coon has been making YouTube videos since December 2013, she started creating YouTube content after watching beauty gurus like Bethany Mota (Macbarbie07) and Meredith Foster (StilaBabe09), being intrigued by their content and style.

Staying creative brings a challenge, however Coon has her approach down. “I go on YouTube to see what other people have made or see what they’re making and try to put my own spin on it or I’ll just go on Pinterest and find ideas that’s a big help,” Coon said. A lot of people put a theme to their channel while Coon has decided to leave her options open when it comes to the type of content she’s putting out on YouTube, “A lot of my videos are based around fashion or make up or do it yourself kind of videos. But really I just post what I want to post. There’s not really a rule to anything,” Coon said.

Mikayla has taken a short break in the most recent months but plans on starting up her channel again. Coon has planned to put no shelf life on her YouTube experience, “I’ll keep doing them as long as I like doing them. If I don’t like it I don’t want to continue doing them.
