Tensions were high for those participating in the spring musical, The Addams Family, as the week came to a close. The Addams Family opened Friday April 24th so they had to make sure everything was running well and ready for the big night.
Students had been staying until 10 or later all week for “tech week” making sure everything is ready to go.

“This is going to be unlike anything we’ve ever done” Junior Griffin Price boasted. We don’t normally get to see what goes on behind the curtain to make these beautiful performances a success. Tech students ran sound tests and made sure all the mics were working properly so they didn’t have any problems or glitches when they performed the show in front of a full house. They also had to check all the lights and make sure that the spotlights were ready and that they had all the colors they need. The actors and actresses had been doing their hair and makeup and getting their costumes on so they could do a few last rehearsals the week before opening night.

“There’s always great food!” Senior Megan McLean said. The parent booster club provides meals for all the actors and tech crew to eat before they go on stage like soup night, baked potato bars, and sandwich nights. It can be stressful for the kids but it is also a lot of fun being a part of this big family. They were all very excited and felt the show was going to be a huge success.

“The musical turned out way better than we expected! It was by far the best musical we have ever done. The whole cast was full of true stars and everyone played their part so well!” Junior Adrianna Stallings told me after the show was over. They filled the auditorium with laughs and applause and they got great reviews.
