For this years fairytale of a prom, there are so many details to put together. You have to find the perfect outfit, date, promposal, and place to eat. Doing all of this alone can be hard, so here are some ideas for prom night dinners to take off some pressure and planning!

You need the best fuel for a night of dancing in heels and standing in photobooth lines. Whether you’re going alone, with a date, or with a big group of friends; find the best restaurant for your group tastes. “Our group is around over 80 people so it was hard to find restaurants that could take all of us. The only one we could find is Shawn O’Donnell’s. It was pretty hard to plan because of our timeline and size but we are starting to get things figured out. The restaurant has Irish food as well as the basics like chicken tenders and burgers, which is probably what I’m going to get. Before the dance our group is doing pictures with life n light and then dinner,” Trinity Hollimon said.

With a group as big as Natalie Gaedcke has, it seems like an impossible search. “I’m going with a big group of friends and a few of them planned it for the rest of us. The restaurant isn’t figured out yet because our group is so big and everyone had different ideas. I think most people want seafood since prom is in Mukilteo by the beach, and I know that Emory’s on Silver Lake was mentioned. We’ll probably just go somewhere casual after we get our pictures,” Gaedcke said. However, there are some willing to cater to such a large gathering. Places like Harrys Fine Food in Seattle offer special private dining options where you can rent out the space and eat as just your group. That can be a great way to have a comfortable atmosphere alone with your friends. If you’re wanting to stay closer to home, Snohomish has a large hosting restaurant named Collector’s Choice Restaurant with so many varying options.

Seafood, steak or anything sweet; whatever you want is possible since so many restaurants have such variety. “About 100 of us seniors rented out this restaurant and we’re all having dinner there. I’m going in a big group and with a date and we had some pretty organized people run the planning, so it went easy. The food is in the middle of fancy and casual and I’m pretty sure they serve Italian. We’re getting pictures done with life n light and then going to dinner before the dance,” Kate Winston said. Renting out a restaurant gives you the opportunity to have a more personal experience with your prom party.

Taking place on the 13th of May, prom is coming up so it’s time to get your plans in place. Even small groups who have an easier time planning have a quickly approaching deadline. “M group of 8 people is going to Ivars which has seafood. It’s a pretty casual place but we’re going fancy since we’re going to the beach to take pictures too. It was a little hard to plan and it was difficult to have all of the times work but someone just suggested Ivars and no one else said anything against it,” Maya Douglass said.

Whether Ivars, Emory’s, Shawn O’Donnell’s, Harrys Fine Food, or any other nearby caterer, it’s around the corner and won’t stop for you.
