Favorite Winter Sport Spot

Favorite+Winter+Sport+Spot

While the winter season is in session, many Glacier Peak students have begun to participate and indulge in different winter hobbies/sports. Most popular of these winter pastimes, the activity of Skiing and Snowboarding has become an all-time favorite to the students. The cold season and constant snow has made it very suitable and appropiate for around this time. Snowboarding and Skiing has become a main source of entertainment and leisure for all who are looking for a hobby well-suited for this season, “I just started skiing because I wanted to start a new hobby and it made sense to do something winter related,” Cassandra Torres said. As many students have started to pick up these hobbies or return to this activity, some have started to develop different opinions on which Ski/Snowboard spot is the most enjoyable/best to go to.

With the popularity of these hobbies, it is not suprising that many students have begun to debate on where is the best area to participate in these activities. Whether it be the conditions of the mountain, snow, or even weather, many have begun to evaluate these factors and wonder on which area is the best to go. The most visited, Stevens and Snoqualmie Pass have become a hotspot for these activities, leading students to choose over these two,  “Honestly Stevens Pass is my go-to for snowboarding, but I might be biased because I’ve only been to a different Pass once,” Aiden Rapanan said. Many even compare which area is easier to participate at, “I’ve noticed the slopes at Snoqualmie are less steeper than the Stevens Pass one, well atleast I felt like it was easier to ski in Snoqualmie than Stevens,” Calista Neph said.

Although these debates have caused students to debate over which area they should go to, the majority of the students who participate in these winter activities would rather just enjoy the sport no matter where it takes place. Whether it be Snoqualmie or Stevens, the overall enjoyment and entertainment gained from these pastimes are far more valuable than the simple question of where to go.
