Pondering about the Poets

Pondering about the Poets

Theories are being run about what Taylor Swifts album release on April 19 will entail as fans get excited for new content from her.

Taylor Swift announced her new project titled; The Tortured Poets Department on February 4 at the 2024 Grammys. She dropped the big news when she was in the middle of her acceptance speech for her thirteenth grammy, fittingly enough as her lucky number is thirteen. “I was shocked at first, I was expecting Reputation (Taylor’s Version). My immediate thoughts were that it seemed so different from her usual albums. I’m a big fan, excited for the new album. It seems like it’s going to be good,” Keara Brady said.

The following day after she announced her new album, she posted the standard edition track list that included sixteen tracks. Since then, she has announced three bonus tracks that will be available only on different vinyl variants. “I’ve already talked to some friends about what tracks we’re excited to listen to. I’m definitely excited for the tracks ‘loml’ and ‘I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)’ they just intrigued me when I saw them on the track list. I think there will be more songs that relate to ex boyfriends and maybe a couple about Travis Kelce. I feel like she’s definitely brought another genre in and could be trying something new, I’m excited to see what she’s up to,” Gabrielle Mendoza said.

It is suggested that this album will be full of heartbreaking lyrics as one of the covers has the words, “I love you, it’s ruining my life” on the front. While some fans are satisfied that they might have songs that they can cry along to, others are wishing for a more upbeat album. “I’m not very excited just because I’m more of a Lover fan and it seems more like her album Folklore and I’m not the biggest Folklore fan, but we’ll see. The title is kind of throwing me off. I want to hear the third to last track, Clara Bow because I like the name,” Thomas Morrison said.
