Tulips in Full Bloom

Tulips+in+Full+Bloom

Every Spring, Skagit Valley holds a jaw dropping tulip festival that holds hundreds of rows of all colors, many photo opportunities, as well as a chance to buy themed merchandise or tulips at the festival to take home with you. Running the entire month of April, it is extremely popular among all ages.

“My favorite part was getting to see the different varieties of the tulips, all of the colors were so vibrant and pretty and there were so many of them. It was so fun to see and take pictures of everything, as well as seeing all of the people there. I was surprised how many people came but I would definitely recommend going whenever you have the chance,” said Gabby Mitchell.

Nearby the festival, Snow Goose Valley Produce holds an extensively long, but “worth the wait,” line for their specialty ice cream.

“It was like a pound, I only got 1 scoop, but it felt like 4. It was so good, it was the first time I’ve been there, and I definitely want to go back. I got there pretty early so there wasn’t a bad line, but you could tell it was getting busy,” said Lauren Hufford. “There were probably 40 options, and it was only $8 for one scoop so I thought it was really worth it, even if you had to wait a long time,” Hufford added.

Whether its cloudy, raining, or the sun is clearly shining, the visit is worth the outing even with the heavy traffic. The tulip festival is the largest in the United States and averages about 1 million visitors throughout the month of April, but even when it’s packed, there is always enough space to snap a few pictures of the gorgeous flowers. The festival costs $17-$20 and is perfect for a family activity or a floral background for an Instagram post.
