Father’s Day

Fathers+Day

As we get through the month of June, Father’s Day is closing in. In less than two weeks, the annual holiday to celebrate the father figure in one’s life nears. With the holiday taking place on Sunday, June 16, many families take this opportunity to have a big outing or take it slower at home. Either option is a perfect idea when spending time with one’s family and celebrating a loved one. Many fathers work hard to give the most to their families and a special day out just for them is well deserved.

“For Father’s Day we’re planning on going out to a fancy dinner, whatever my dad chooses of course. Then spending the rest of the day at home playing games and watching movies,” Lucy Cornelius said.

This special holiday also entails finding and giving gifts to dads around the world. Many kids struggle to choose the right gift, wanting it to be perfect. Some think that it is difficult to pick the right one, although it is doubtful that a father would not love any gift given to them from their children. With this occasion only being once a year, kids work to make their gift the best possible and no matter what it is their dad will always love it.

“I made my dad a photobook of pictures of our family, and we all wrote letters and put them inside. I also drew him a picture of all of us. I hope he likes it,” Analyssa Chavez said.

The best gifts are the ones that kids have put thought and love into. Next Sunday is the perfect day to spend time with your dad and appreciate all that he has done. A family day would make any father beam with joy.
