Distribution Day: Tips and Tricks

Distribution+Day%3A+Tips+and+Tricks

Distribution day is up and coming. All students who bought a yearbook this year will be able to get their hands on this year’s ‘Grizzly Way yearbook’. Along with the theme this year, stickers are being handed out specialized to student’s grade levels. For everything to run smoothly yearbook students work very hard to keep an organized environment. With field day happening in the background and the chaos of getting everyone a yearbook there are a few things students can keep in mind in order to help.

Yearbook students have made and hung signs around the school with arrows and directions pointing towards the mat room. On field day when your grade level is announced you just follow the arrows up the stairs and into the mat room. The tables in the room are labeled, each table stands for two letters (ie: A and B). The first step is to go to the table with your last names first letter. Remember to keep in mind which cover you want to keep the process fast and painless (Choice of blue, white or silver). “I think the best tip I have is know the first letter of your last name. Everyone seems to go to the wrong table and like- there is signs, look at the sign’s. It’s easier this year because it’s just two letters on each table instead of a group of letters. Oh and pay your fines, always remember to pay your fines,” Lilah George said.

Seniors are the first to go in, then juniors, sophomores, freshmen. If you have fines you have to return to the bookkeeper, pay the fine and return to the mat room losing a lot of time in between. Being quick, ready and exiting quickly will make the whole process a lot easier. No need to stress though. Garrett Clarke, who has been in yearbook for three years says his number one tip is to not stress. “Students, you don’t have to worry. We have enough books. There is no need to sprint around and be worried you’re not going to get a book. We have more than enough,” Clarke said.

Exiting is one of the most important steps. Once you have, your yearbook, leave. “Guys, trust me, there will be plenty of time to look at your books, the 5-minute walk to the cafeteria will be so worth it for you when you’re not crowding up the whole room. The exit is into the auxiliary gym at the end of the mat room on the left. Please leave, trust me, it’ll be so much easier,” sophomore Ellie Paul said.

Hours are spent on these books. A whole year to make them but once they get here even more work goes into it. Not only that but setting up the mat room and making posters, it takes multiple days to prep and all yearbook students miss their field day. So please to make the process go faster follow these rules. “Just be nice to the people spending their time to give out books,” Maggie Miller, two-year yearbook student said.
