Before spring break, a two-question quiz was opened for all juniors to vote for their ASB officers and senators. You may be wondering who ended up getting the positions and what their plans for this upcoming school year are. In total, there are four officers, nine senators, two judicial, and one appointed senator seats available for the senior class.
The Senior class officers include Claire Butler, Isabella Botchek, Sion Gaedcke, and Rachel Papson. I interviewed the officers about their goals for next year and why they were interested in being senior class officers so you can better understand who you voted for.
Claire Butler
“My goals for next year are to create fun activities that almost brings the grade together, since we’re gonna be seniors, I especially want all of us to to enjoy the events and each others company for our final year of high school I was interested in being a class officer because I love planning things and ensuring that they run smoothly, and are entertaining” Butler said.
Isabella Botchek
“Some of my goals are student participation in major senior events through voting, volunteering, or maybe an input page, more appreciation for art and culture programs/clubs, and help make GP a safe space for all, no matter the race, gender, or sexual orientation, over the years running for leadership positions and being involved in clubs, I’ve learned I have a passion for leadership. I enjoy representing my class and making changes, additionally, I believe I offer a different perspective as someone with a passion for arts who is friends with people from all backgrounds, so, when the choice came to run for officer or senator, I knew I wanted to run for officer for a change, because senior year is an important part in our lives and I want to try and make a difference, even if it’s small,” Botchek said.
