Before spring break, a two-question quiz was opened for all freshmen to vote for their ASB officers and senators. You may be wondering who ended up getting the positions and what their plans for this upcoming school year are. In total, there are four officers, nine senators, two judicial, and one appointed senator seats available for the freshman class.
The sophomore class officers include Hadley Isaacson, Hasini Suryadevara, Leo Valpiani, and Kaitlyn Wong. I interviewed the officers about their goals for next year and why they are interested in being junior class officers so you can better understand who you voted for.
Hadley Isaacson
“I’m excited and grateful to be one of the class officers next year, I ran because I want to help create a more fun, inclusive and memorable school experience for everyone, one of my main goals is to plan events and activities that truly reflect what our class wants and I want to make sure all voices are heard along the way,” Isaacson said.
Hasini Suryadevara
“I’m mostly interested in class officer because I think it is such a cool experience to be able to represent my class and help make GP have a better campus for everyone, my goals would be similar to having more class hangouts or boxes around the school for GP improvement ideas from students, I’m so honored to have been elected for this position,” Suryadevara said.
Leo Valpiani
“I wanted to be a class officer to learn how to be a leader and gain skills in order to be the best leader I can as well as making the students voices heard and to make their ideas come true, I would like to boost our class spirit next year with maybe some sort of class competition or fun events as well as doing some fundraisers to gain money and just to make the year as fun as I can,” Valpiani said.
Kaitlyn Wong
“Some of my goals for the upcoming year are increasing our communication as a class, finding ways to host more class events and promoting spirit to the class of 2028, I would also like to fundraise much more than we did in the 24-25 school year, so we can have more budget in the future and be able to have more luxuries, I’m interested in becoming a class officer because throughout my academic career, I have discovered that I am a natural leader, I enjoy helping others accomplish things and seeing others happy, I want to make a difference in the world, and I think being a class officer is a great way to start,” Wong said.
The 9 appointed senators include Kai Birch, Kendall Bloomquist, Amaya Chang, Emily Hilton, Lily Riechelson, Jasvitha Senthilkumar, Aarna Seth, Ally Shear, and Dylan Swafford. The judicial branch includes Melania Che and Akshaya Badveeti.
