I have played basketball since second grade. I also played soccer since then, but I quit club last year. This summer, I got hurt at a tournament in California. I tore my meniscus and ACL. It didn’t hurt at all, but I could feel that something was wrong. I went and sat on the bench and saw the trainer after the game. They knew I tore something, but they couldn’t tell what. We flew home two days later but I didn’t go to the doctor until a few days later. When I went, they told me I had to get an MRI. I got to get it the same day. A week later they told me that I tore my ACL and meniscus. I was really sad when I found out because I knew I wouldn’t be able to play high school soccer or basketball. I got my surgery in August, and I should be able to play contact sports again in the summer. Even though I am hurt, I still get to help out with the basketball team, and I even got to travel with them to Spokane.
