“I am currently in Knowledge Bowl, Model UN, Speech and Debate, Key Club, and I’m thinking of establishing another club. So, basically, I’m in about four to five clubs, plus girls’ badminton. Right now, it’s so fun, but at the same time, I procrastinate, which is really bad. And I haven’t gotten enough sleep; my maximum sleeping hours are like three to four hours. I have so much work to do but I don’t know if I am going to get to every single thing, and I’m really afraid because I’m a sophomore so I have to study for all kinds of things and I have to get ready, but then I feel like I’m running out of time. So, my advice to upcoming freshmen is that you should not procrastinate. If it becomes a habit, then it is a bad thing. Also, in your freshman year, join as many clubs as possible, about five, a maximum of ten. Join as much as you can and then in your sophomore year, start picking the clubs that you really want to do, and then start running for leadership positions. Colleges really look for leadership positions, so you should really aim for president, vice president, or captain. I was a team captain for Knowledge Bowl multiple times, so that was pretty good, and I’m also part of the Snohomish Youth Council. It’s good to be very involved with your community because colleges really look for how much you are involved. They look for your core values, such as leadership, and your respect. Yes, it’s good to have a good GPA and good grades, I mean, it’s always wonderful if you’re a valedictorian, but that’s not everything,” Joyce Lee said.
