“I have been cheering competitively for 14 years, so cheering in college meant a lot to me. After seeing almost all of my older teammates go cheer at big colleges growing up, I have always known that’s what I want to do. Junior year I was offered by Baylor University to join their acrobatics and tumbling program. I was so excited about this opportunity to further my career, I went down to Texas almost monthly for camps and training during this time last year. Until about June I was all in with going to Baylor, but during the summer something changed, and I was no longer in love with the school or program, I was so sad to de-commit, but I knew it was the right thing for me to do. So, during my senior year and last competitive season, I went all around the United States trying out for different cheer teams, some I got into and some I didn’t. Within these schools I was never in love with any, until about April when I tried out for Weber a small division one school in Utah. I didn’t know much about them before this year; the only thing I knew was about their recent win in the biggest cheer competition in the nation. While trying out I absolutely fell in love with the school and knew I wanted to go there. After three days of intense try outs, I got the call that I had a spot on the team. This news was so shocking and exciting for me, my family, and my competitive cheer coaches. I was so excited to make everyone proud and be given the opportunity to cheer with the best team in the nation.”
