“So, I’ve always listened to a lot of music, and I wanted to learn how to play an instrument, so in elementary school we did a piano unit in music class, which got me into piano. I took lessons for a few years, which also helped me get into mallet percussion because they are very similar instruments. This of course led me to play drums and other percussion instruments throughout middle and high school. Once I got to GP I was introduced to drumline and pep band, I was instantly in love with it. The energy I can bring to the band, and the way I can put it all into the way I play has been huge for me. I also feel a constant drive to improve, because there has been a lot of good players in our different lines over the years. I started taking private lessons and working hard to get to where I am today. I’ve met some awesome people over the years, and it’s led to a lot of memories.”
