I plan on attending the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in Minneapolis next year, and I plan to major in elementary education. I’ve always loved teaching, from helping my classmates with their math homework in elementary school to teaching sixth-graders music. I’ve always had a knack for it. I come from a line of teachers, so maybe that’s where I get it. I hope to become a third-grade teacher, as the one I had was so amazing and helped me and my family so so much, and I want to be that way with other families. People ask me why not younger grades or older, and I’m totally chill with the idea of teaching kindergarten and older kids, but second grade is WAY too fundamental, and if I screw up teaching them, then they’re screwed for like ever, and I don’t need that kinda pressure. I chose Minnesota because the campus is gorgeous and I’ve always loved the city. My aunt and uncle met at the U and continued on to work in the Carlson School of Business, so I have them to bug all the time. The rest of my family lives right next door in Wisconsin, so I’ll be able to go see them and watch my little cousin Lola grow up, which was a big deal for me. The people at UMN are so nice, and it’s just so pretty and so cool, and I just love it. So yeah, Go Gophers!
