Super Bowl LVII Predictions

The Kansas City Chiefs are going up against the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl 57 on Feb. 12, in Arizona. Since the Seahawks are in the NFC, many of their fans are rooting for the Eagles, but some people have ulterior motives for Philadelphia winning. “I’m rooting for the Eagles because I get $10 if they win,” said Kiya Anderson, an avid football player and fan.

Many things are special about this Super Bowl, one being that it’s the first Super Bowl in history where two black quarterbacks are going up against each other. Another being that there is predicted to be a record high in sports betting. It is projected that 1 in 5 Americans are going to bet on the Super Bowl and it is predicted that $16 billion will be bet. Along with betting many people are predicting the score of the championship game. Philadelphia fan Anderson predicted 34-28 Eagles while a Kansas City Chiefs fan, Kevin Bonshe, predicted it would end 21-28 Chiefs.

The Super Bowl is renowned for having superior ads during ad breaks. Some people watch the game just for the ads or just as an excuse to get together with friends and hang out. “I love the funny ones because they always make my family laugh when we watch it together,” Bri Basham said. “We always get the little veggie tray and make our own ranch dip from the Uncle Dan’s packages and then we would get chips and a big thing of dip. We are probably going to have a party at my house with a couple of family friends.”

Other people go for a different route when it comes to snacks. “Sour straws are my favorite,” Bonshe said.

The U.S. is pretty much split when it comes to who is rooting for who. We will find out who is the winning team of the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 12.
