The GP choir has returned from their trip to Disneyland, where they performed eight different songs in front of a large crowd. “We performed ‘Hukuna Mungu Kama Wewe’, ‘Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride’, ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘What a Wonderful World’, ‘Pire Imagination’, ‘Go the Distance’, ‘Duel of the Fates’, and ‘Il Lampo’,” Riley Lowell said. “The performance went very well. There were definitely a lot more people watching than we expected, compared to our trip from a couple of years ago. Overall, everyone seemed kind of nervous at first, but we pulled it off, and we even had a few songs student-directed by my friend, Finley Dickey, who did a great job.”
“I started student-led songs last year, and I led two songs when we went to Disney, which were ‘Pure Imagination’ and ‘Go the Distance’. I like doing it because it gives you a different perspective of choir because you are the one leading all the songs, and you get to see everyone else singing,” Finley Dickey said.
Another choir student, Quintin Brown, also had a very memorable time on the trip, making lifelong memories. “Practically the entire trip was fun, but it was a special joy to just spend all four days with people who I adore. There were times waiting in line for rides or just walking around the park where I occasionally forgot I was with people I had only known for around two years, and not a lifelong family,” Brown said.
“I enjoy choir because I get to create a bond with my friends, and I learn more about my voice,” Maddie Ford said. “I did enjoy the Disney performance. It was fun getting to see people walk by and then stop and watch us all do something we love. My favorite part of the trip was when a group of us, around 20 people, went on Guardians of the Galaxy, and we filled up a whole elevator. I recommend joining the Choir because you can learn so much about music and how your voice works. I also made some amazing friends through choir.”
