“A crippling disease that affects high school seniors, symptoms include laziness, over excessive wearing of track pants, old athletic shirts, sweatpants, athletic shorts, and sweatpants. Also features a lack of studying, repeated absences, and a generally dismissive attitude,” is the definition of Senioritis provided by Urban Dictionary.

Many students say that they have Senioritis. Seniors that have graduated say it usually hits towards the end of the school year, but it’s different for everyone. As soon as the holidays end, Senioritis gets even worse because the students sleeping pattern changed. It’s harder to get up at 6 am when school starts back up.

When it comes to doing homework, many students put it off to the last minute they end up not even doing it.

“I’ve stayed up till 12:30 to 1 and I’m not even do my homework I just debate whether or not to do it. I put off my homework for so long that I end up completing at school the day It’s due. I usually just to the bare minimum work because I still want to graduate,” Senior Becca Isler said.

Senioritis’s also effects how students dress and act. Some students have said that they try on their outfit maybe once or twice a week, and that’s only if they have a reason too.

“It’s sad but I honestly wear leggings every single day paired with socks and moccasins with either a flannel and vest or a sweatshirt. I didn’t think Senioritis would be this bad until I realized I was procrastinating so much and lost all motivation to try in school,” Isler said.
