On Tuesday March 22nd, three bombs exploded in the Belgian Capital, Brussels. It has been reported by CNN Greg Botelho that approximately thirty four people have been killed while roughly 170 people are wounded. The numbers are still growing.

“We were fearing terrorist attacks, and that has now happened,” Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel said about the attack. This attack was similar to the ones that occurred in Paris that ISIS took responsibility for.

According to BBC News, The first two blasts went off at the Zaventem Airport, specifically the Departure Terminal at about 7:00 Universal Time. Eleven people’s lives were taken. The third bomb struck Maelbeek Metro station about an hour later upon which twenty more people lost their lives.

People living in Belgium have been advised to stay indoors as their Terrorism level has been raised to a level four; this is the highest level possible. Due to these attacks three days of mourning for these attacks have been declared. “This is a day of Tragedy, a black day… I would like to call on everyone to show calmness and solidarity” Prime Minister Charles Michel recalled after the later attacks.

After all that has happened today, Brussels is in our thoughts.
