Here are three great pastry recipes you can bake in your free time with your friends or family. I picked out my favorite tried and true and almost fail proof.

Danishes usually have a flakey puff pastry crust with a custard or fruit jelly filling in the center with a glaze or sugar on top. These danishes are filled with cream cheese and have a dusting of sugar on top. They always make for a delicious breakfast, midday snack, or treat. In this recipe first you mix the egg and water then set it aside, next mix an egg yolk, cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla, then cut the puff pastry and fold the corners inward so it is shaped like a octagon, then spoon the cream cheese mixure into the center of the puff pastry. Finally brush the egg and water mixture on the puff pastry and sprinkle with sugar then bake.

Everyone knows and loves chocolate chip cookies; they are a classic. These Nestle Toll House chocolate chip cookies only have a three step recipe so it’s hard to mess up these cookies. First you mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl then set it aside. Next mix butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Then add eggs one at a time, then gradually mix in the flour mixture. Then mix in chocolate chips and nuts then bake.

Another pastry that everyone knows, however they are always better homemade. These cinnamon rolls are made from scratch and only need to rise once, rather than twice like most other recipes. This recipe also includes helpful tips to make the baking process easier. First mix flour, sugar, salt, yeast, water, milk, butter, and an egg. Then you knead the dough and let it rest. After the dough rests, roll the dough into a rectangle, then spread butter and coat with cinnamon and sugar. Then you roll the dough and cut into 1-2 inch pieces then let the dough rise. After the dough has risen, bake until puffy and  golden brown and drizzle with frosting.
