A local roadside coffee stand, Grounds Coffee Co., had lines around the block after a TikTok video by Ana Mannlein went viral. Grounds Coffee is known for spicing up their drinks and using creativity within their creations. After Mannlein’s video of her buying the drinks with her family got over 1 million views, people came from all over to try the drinks. “A customer waited an hour and 48 minutes for the drinks. The furthest people have been coming from is Wenatchee, Tacoma, Buckley, and taking the ferries over,” barista Sydney Allman said.  “The cops showed up one day because the line was so long.”

Allman’s sister-in-law, Ana Mannlein, posted the video and afterward, more people started to discover and post about this local phenomenon. “It went viral because my sister-in-law posted just a little silly, for fun TikTok of us making the drinks and then it just blew up. Over a million views,” Allman said.

Grounds coffee is popular amongst students who had been making trips here before the stand went viral. “I love the drinks there, everything is so creative and they do something special for every drink they make. I saw the lines, it was so long, it was almost wrapped around the entire block,” senior Liliana VanderVeen said. With so many more people going to Grounds, lines are getting longer, but this local part of Snohomish is getting the recognition it deserves.

There are lots of roadside coffee shops within Washington so having something unique within the business makes Grounds stick out. “I was talking to my dad about how they went viral and he didn’t even realize that it was the place we always go to. He was really surprised and it was even better that the place is local,” Braydan Huddleson said. Even though Snohomish is a small town, it has its individuality with small businesses like Grounds Coffee Co.
