The theatre department has gone through a big change as they started their search for a new director. After careful consideration by Mr. Jordan and the rest of the theatre department, they have come to the conclusion to make Terrie Lemcio their new director. Mrs. Lemcio is also the mother of one of the students in the theatre club, meaning she has been a part of the past couple of productions as a parent volunteer. Because of this, she has already met a lot of the clubs’ members and they are looking forward to her taking on a bigger role in the upcoming productions. “I’m feeling very excited about it, I think it’s a great step forward for our program. I know that the new director is very cool and very experienced, and I know she can put on a good show so I’m very excited for the new change in leadership,” Cole Harbak said. “I think the rest of the cast will take it very positively and of course, there will always be some complaints but overall, I think it will have a very positive reaction.”

Even some newer members have something positive to say about the new director. “I’ve only been in theatre for one year but I feel like it’ll be a change but not much of a change. I really like the son of the new director, he is a cool guy, so I think I’ll also like the new director,” Abby Savage said. “I think it is going to be really fun, I’ve heard great things about the new director. I think the rest of the cast will react really well; the son’s nice so I’m sure that the mom is nice.”

Some members have known her previously and are looking forward to working together again. “She’s pretty cool, although I’ve only known her for like at least ten years. I’ve been doing shows with her for I believe three or four years of my life, so that has been fun,” Hayden Austneburg said. “Overall, she is a really good director, and I can’t wait to work with her again, because I thought I wouldn’t get to again after I left middle school.”

Britta Jorgensen, who has been in many musical productions herself, is looking forward to the new change with a positive point of view. “I think she is awesome. I have a lot of faith in her and I think she’s gonna do an awesome job. She has a lot of experience and I’ve seen the shows that she has put on and I think they’re really cool,” Jorgensen said. “It is sad, it’s the end of an era with our last director, but I’m excited for the new change in leadership and I think it’s a change we really need.”

Newly elected theatre club Vice President Veronica Nelson has seen her work firsthand and is excited about what this new change will bring to the club. “I’m really excited, I have gotten the pleasure to see some of the shows she’s directed and they’re amazing. I think this is definitely going to be a big change but it’s gonna be a positive change, and I think it will be great for the theatre program,” Nelson said. “I think it will take some time to get used to obviously, but our theatre program has always been really welcoming so I know they’re gonna welcome her with open arms. I am really excited, and I think it will be good and everyone will be excited.”

The director’s son has also been in some of her shows and is excited to welcome his mom into the club and into their upcoming productions. “Well, I’ve known her for about 15 years of my life, so I think she’s pretty cool. I have been in a couple of shows that she has done so I think she’s gonna do a really good job and I’m very excited,” William Lemcio said. “It is gonna be a change, it’s a big change, but I think it’s a good change. I think people will be excited about that, and if they aren’t they’re not gonna talk about it in front of me so I wouldn’t know. Being her son, I feel pretty good about it, and I certainly know her a lot better than the previous director.”
