“I have always been the friend that was asked to curl people’s hair for fun school dances or activities, and I loved it! My favorite school activities were always the school dances because it was a fun day of getting all pretty and done up with my friends and that meant it was time for my fun to make everyone’s hair gorgeous for the day. Ever since I started doing all my friends’ hair for fun events and dances it made me realize how much I enjoyed doing hair. I started to look into being a cosmetologist so I could be able to do what I loved for my career every day. As I looked more into it, I realized that Glacier Peak offered an off-campus tech school program opportunity. As a junior in high school, I was able to go to Sno Isle for half the school day in the cosmetology program learning and doing such fun amazing things that I loved to do, and I made such amazing friends that I will have forever from that program. Now as a senior Glacier Peak also offers the ability for me to further my education even more as I now do running start through Everett Community College’s cosmetology program. I am so grateful to have the opportunity and accessibility to have been able to further my education and start my career early as a high school student.”
