“What made me come to America was mainly the high school spirit, but also the way that this country works alongside with its people. I arrived on the 23rd of August and since then I have lived an uncountable number of experiences. One of my highlights is definitely Thanksgiving, a tradition I never had the chance to experience until this year thanks to the best host family I could have ever asked for. I am amazed by how welcoming everyone is and how much Americans care about each other. Despite everything and everyone being so easygoing, I have encountered some challenges. One is getting used to the different teaching system, which I like but it’s a little bit overwhelming since in Spain I didn’t have any homework, but here, it’s a crucial part of my grade. So far though, America has been great, and I hope to continue meeting new, interesting, and thoughtful people while I continue to learn about American culture.”
