Donations, cookies, McDonalds, and Soccer. Boys and Girls soccer teams joined together last night at McDonalds to raise money for both teams. They had players from JV and Varsity come help spread the support. It was talked about at school and players tweeted so the greater soccer community would hear about it.

Between 5pm and 7pm, 20% of the food sales and all donations went to the Booster Clubs of the soccer teams. Once a patron donated, they received freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.

It started off pretty slow, but picked up as the time went by.  Players were inside and outside soliciting donations. Players outside held up signs and waved people down to try and get them inside McDonalds. Other players were behind the counter and in the drive thru to asking customers to donate.

Juniors Maddi Kuligoski, Sarah Steranka, and Kelsey Karls gave a clap and cheered, “We’ve got a tipper,” every time someone donated. It got everyone to clap and brought energy to the room.

As the time was winding down, all players were trying their best to get people to support and donate. It wrapped up and the adults counted all the money. In two hours, they received $950 and split it between the two teams booster clubs.
