Glacier Peak girls’ basketball played a game against Edmonds Woodway that they won with the final score being 52-48. The game was at home and was on Dec. 12. “Defensively the other team had a good game plan which took us out of what we traditionally would do. We’re a good shooting team but they weren’t confident in themselves after they missed a couple of shots, so they were afraid to shoot. But we were getting wide open shots, so it made it tough. We could of played better but hey we won so that’s good. Brynna was heavily guarded, but she still did a good job doing what she normally does. I also thought Ky did some good leadership and some buckets when she needed to and Sammie had a really good game too,” Brian Hill said.

Throughout the game the teams were just a few points behind one another, and the game relied on the players breaking away from their defenders for points. “I thought I had really good assist in the game, but I wish I would have posted up more in the game. In the game I think that we could of helped each on defense better. I think that Sammie Thoma did the best during the game because she worked hard and got open to have good shots,” Marley Macris said.

Looking back on the game, guard Kate Fowler has ideas on how she wants to adjust her play. “I thought we took a step back because we played down to their level instead of rising up and beating them by more. When we switched to a full court press and started creating energy for ourselves that got us the lead. I think I did good being active on defense, but I wish I would of taken my open threes,” Fowler said.
