Will The Mariners Stay Hot?

Will+The+Mariners+Stay+Hot%3F

It is no secret the Mariners are leading the Al west by a good margin. But last year, the Mariners were hot towards the end of the year but missed out due to some bad performances towards the end. Julio Rodriguez, the Mariners star center fielder, started the year off cold, but has really heated up. In his last seven games Rodriguez has had a .346 batting average, and a .393 on base percentage. He has started to show signs that he is not swinging for the fences with two strikes and is getting on base. Ty France said in an interview after splitting a series with the New York Yankees, “Our goal is to ultimately make it to the world series, our offense is not preforming at its best and we are leading the division, see what we can do when we all heat up,” France said.

Both the Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers have not been performing to their best, the reigning world series winners, as of June 7 are five games back in the division. MVP runner up in 2023 Corey Seager has a .271 batting average, 13 homeruns, and 30 RBI’S. He is not doing terrible, but just not doing as well as what we thought he was going to do in the first few months. And the Astros are a whole different story, they are under .500 and they are seven games back of the division, and lots of their players are underperforming. except for Kyle Tucker, who left last night with an injury. “I do not think the Mariners will stay hot because they strike out way too much and don’t walk enough,” Ryder Higginbotham said.

One person has been unbelievable for the Seattle Mariners. Josh Rojas has been the best Mariner by far this 2024 season. Josh Rojas has a .277 batting average, a .344 on base percentage, and the most surprising is his .415 slugging percentage. He was supposed to be in and out with newly acquired Luis Urías, but he has just been too good to take out. The surprising thing is, he only has three home runs. He is hitting doubles singles, and just hitting the ball hard, a clear comparison to what Edgar Martinez used to do back when he played. “The Mariners are doing really good this year, I really think they have a shot this year to go all the way,” Hadden Brown said.
