If you think you have the best school spirit, these two science teachers will take you on. Ms. Moon and Mrs. Scott not only dress up, but go above and beyond; thinking of new ways to represent each spirit day.

The first spirit day, Monday October 13th, was pajama day. Instead of just dressing up in their casual pajamas, Mrs. Scott and Ms. Moon dressed up as the boogie man. “When you’re a little kid and you’re scared of the dark, you’re always scared of the boogey man.,” Moon said. Ms. Scott dressed up as a booger and Ms. Moon dressed up as a man to create the boogie man. Tuesday, the next day, was highlighter neon day. Ms. Moon and Ms. Scott took this opportunity to highlight the new science teacher in their department, Mrs. Eichenberger. They took highlighter day to ‘highlight her day’. On western Wednesday, the two science teachers dressed up as pageant winner; Mrs. Pigee and Mrs. Corn Cob. “Wednesday was my favorite day. We’ve been planning to be pageant winners for so long, but that was the best day to do it,” Moon said. On Thursday for beach day, five science teachers dressed up as different molecules to represent the beach. Ms. Moon and Mrs. Scott were H2O (water), Mr. Hayashi, Mr. Wolitarsky and Mr. Hill were sodium chloride (salt) and Mrs. Eichenberger was laying out on the beach. All together they made an unbelievable beach scene.

As tradition, the two science teachers always extend past the expected guidelines for spirit wear on spirit week, setting an outstanding role models for students. “It shows the students that it’s okay to rip out the cool car and that it’s okay to have fun and enjoy yourself while you’re here at school,” Moon said. Unfortunately, the science teacher duo was at a science conference for the weekend and missed crazy blue and white day, but the school spirit and pride still echoed throughout the school.
