With two weeks to prepare a new dance, the Hip Hop Dance Team competed at Interlake High School on Saturday, December 13th. As the weekend came closer the stress levels increased. They met early at Glacier Peak for a quick meeting and then it was off for hours of makeup and costuming at Interlake High School. The Competition started and the team was 10th to perform.

As they took the floor in their Seattle Seahawk Jerseys and white high tops the team was ready to dance their hearts out.  With their Seattle theme they chose to keep it local with artists Macklemore and Sir Mix A Lot. These competitions aren’t just about winning they are about having fun and cheering on the other teams. There were the previous state champions Tumwater and proven talent Shorecrest in the competition.

Glacier Peak won the spirit award for the day. With all the last minute choices and choreography changes the team put their best Chuck Taylor spin on it. The team ended the night with a pizza party complete with spirit cookie. As soon as winter break in over they will get back to work and start preparing for their upcoming competition in January.
