Saving the Arctic Animals

Saving the Arctic Animals

Delaney Huck, Staff Writer

In today’s world we are expanding our gas and oil industries daily. But we haven’t taken into consideration what we could be losing by expanding it more and more. Most arctic animals are considered endangered, and already have very low population numbers.  December 30th the Trump Administration finalized the plan that would allow drilling for oil on a refuge for arctic animals. Why would drilling in the arctic refuge be bad? Drilling the refuge would cause animals that are already very limited distress and force the animals out of their homes. The word about this spread fast, how could we stop this from happening? Petitions, and posts were made to help prevent the drilling from continuing. Over 2 million signatures were given to help postpone the drilling. We did it. We all came together and stopped the drilling from happening.

How we can help? We can help by spreading awareness and by posting links of petitions. This link is to send President Biden a letter about the drilling. Your signature can go a long way to saving the arctic animals.  Protecting the animals
