Most teenagers these days have some sort of social media account whether it’s a Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Many people are probably also following the “GPHS Anonymous” account on either Twitter or Instagram and have seen the spectacular posts. Did you know that there are three different people who run them? He/she has been posting about the students here in a more than positive ways nearly three times a week for the past year.

On Instagram people can send him/her a picture of a friend or someone they know and write a positive little blurb for everyone to see. Through Twitter he/she keeps students up to date about what is going on around school and what upcoming events there are. These posts have been known to change people’s entire days around. “I really like what the page is about and it boosts a lot of people’s self-esteems,” Selina Pekarek said.

Although he/she desires to stay anonymous, I was able to get an inside interview about the motivation and dedication behind these two accounts. “…it inspires me to keep this going when someone tells me that it makes their day or makes them extremely happy. Making people happy makes me happy,” said one of the three.

These students all have a passion for improving others lives. They strive to make peoples days and be the reason they smile when they aren’t feeling too great. “I know how it feels to be down, and I know how much a small compliment can mean to someone and change their day,” said the other student.

As a group they said that they plan on passing the accounts down to underclassmen when their graduation time eventually comes around.
