This past Thursday, the new Varsity, and JV girls tennis coaches was announced, Fred Miller will be the new head varsity coach and Ms. Lee will be the new JV coach. Fred Miller played tennis in high school but this is his very first time coaching tennis, but he is making sure he knows what he is doing before the season starts.

This past week, he has been talking to former coach Micah Perron, about the drills and what the girls do and all the little things he can pick up to get a little more information on how the season will end up.

“I’ve coached around 7 different sports and I thought trying for the tennis job would be such a good experience and a super way to end the 2018 school year,” Miller said.

The reason behind wanting to be a coach this year as well because his daughter, Hailey Miller was on the varsity team last year. Also, he has another daughter named Makayla that plays softball in the spring. Fred wants to be prepared for the season and for the past week he has been coming to school, and finding all of the tennis ball, talking to the athletic director Mr. Judkins and even going to Perron’s tennis club to find some good drills to do during tryout and the season.

“He’s really inspiring the team this year to compete with each other and push ourselves to be the best we can be which will connect us as a team,” Angela Beeker said.

This year’s tennis season will be new to everyone but will be a positive new experience that will push the kids to do the best they can.
